A very simple rule:
Whenever you a dividing a number (or fraction) by a fraction, you simply multiply the number (or fraction) by the reciprocal of the dividing fraction.
As an example, let's take a look at dividing a fraction by another fraction:
![(2)/(5)/(2)/(3)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/w2hpmwu7dz3uqowyuqz1kpjuffv9nc45gl.png)
This division can be performed by multiplying 2/5th by the reciprocal of (2/3)rd, which is 3/2. Thus, it can be performed by:
![\begin{gathered} (2)/(5)/(2)/(3) \\ =(2)/(5)*(3)/(2) \\ =(2*3)/(5*2) \\ =(6)/(10) \\ =(3)/(5) \end{gathered}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/a9oupgpam7re714c0rg638es9zj003r11j.png)
