a. The length of the rectangle above is 2 units (horizontal)

The width of the rectangle above is 4 units (vertical)

b. To find the area of a rectangle you multiply the length by the width. For the given rectangle you have the next formula:

\begin{gathered} Area=Length* Width \\ \\ Area=2units*4units \\ \\ Area=8units^2 \end{gathered}

c.

d. The two congruent (equal) shapes formed above are triangles.

e. The area of one triangle is the half of the area of the rectangle:

\begin{gathered} Area\text{ }triangle=\frac{Area\text{ }rectangle}{2} \\ \\ Area\text{ }triangle=(Length* Width)/(2) \\ \\ Area\text{ }triangle=(2units*4units)/(2) \\ \\ Area\text{ }triangle=(8units^2)/(2) \\ \\ Area\text{ }triangle=4units^2 \end{gathered}
