Ben and Susan are truck drivers. Ben drivers. Ben drives 300 miles due west and Susan drives 160 miles due south. To the nearest mile, how far apart would they be?

Here, we want to calculate the distance between these two

We will need a triangular representation of this;

As we have a right triangle, the distance between the two is the hypotenuse

So, we will use Pytahgoras' theorem here;

This states that the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the two other sides

Let us have the distance between the two as D
