How would the size and shape of a cell affect the rate of diffusion of a substance into that cell?

As cells increase in size (specially in volume) they become less efficient with diffusion. Diffusion depends on the cell's surface in contact with the environment, small cells have less area so they can "focus" better, while big cells have more space, and diffusion requires more time. So, as cells increase in size, they diffusion rate gets slower. It is a negative relationship.
