We can express numbers in different formats, such as integers, whole numbers, fractions, and decimals:

Integers are whole numbers that can be positive, negative and zero.

For example, -2,-3,5,6,0....

Whole numbers are positive numbers that does not include a fractional or decimal part.

For example, 1,2,3,4.....

Fractions tells us how many parts of a whole number we have.

For example, 1/2, 1/3 , 5/6....

Decimals are the set of numbers lying between integers or a number line.

The numbers to the left of the decimal point are the integers or whole numbers and the numbers to the right of the decimal point are decimal fractions.

For example, 2.5, 3.8, 4.2.......
