A man that weighs 76 kilograms on Mars would weigh 228 kilograms on Neptune. If a certain object weighs 57 grams on Neptune, how much would it weigh on Mars?

Solution

For this case we can do the following proportion:


\frac{76\operatorname{kg}}{228\operatorname{kg}}=\frac{x}{0.057\operatorname{kg}}

Solving for x


x=0.057\cdot(76)/(228)=0.019

Then the answer would be:

0.019 kg * (1000gr/1 kg)= 19 grams
