The given triangle is a right angle triangle. Taking U as the reference angle,

opposite side = VW = 11

hypotenuse = UV = 61

Adjacent side = UW = 60

We would determine the tangent of angle U by applying the tangent trigonometric ratio which is expressed as

Tan# = opposite side/adjacent side

Thus,

Tan U = 11/60

Recall, Cotangent = 1/tangent

Thus,

Cotangent of angle U = 1/(11/60)

If we flip 11/60 such that it becomes 60/11, the division sign would change to multiplication. Thus, we have

Cotangent of angle U = 1 x 60/11

Cotangent of angle U = 60/11

The ratio is 60/11
