The distributive property allows us to says that for example


5(4+1)=5\cdot4+5\cdot1


10a+55b

now we can write 10 = 2 * 5 and 55 = 11 * 5 and so we can write


\begin{gathered} 10a+55b \\ 2\cdot5a+11\cdot5b \end{gathered}

we can factor out the 5 to get


5(2a+11b)

which is our answer!
