f(x)=(8-x)/(x^2-2)

we replace x=-2

so

\begin{gathered} f(-2)=(8-(-2))/((-2)^2-2) \\ \end{gathered}

now solve

\begin{gathered} (8+2)/(4-2) \\ \\ (10)/(2)=5 \end{gathered}

the solution is 5
