The sound waves are the longitudinal waves that require a medium to propagate through. The sound waves are carried by the vibrations of the medium. The wave from a speaker is an example of sound waves.
Electromagnetic waves are transverse waves that consist of electric and magnetic fields perpendicular to each other and to the direction of propagation of the wave. The electromagnetic waves do not require any medium to travel through. Examples are X-rays, UV rays, gamma rays etc.
Thus the correct arrangement is
Sound waves:- waves from a speaker, require a medium to travel through, longitudinal waves.
Electromagnetic waves:- do not require a medium, transverse waves, gamma rays.
