Given the equation -6x-7y=42, the x intercept occurs at when y = 0

Subxtitute y = 0 into the equation ans solve for x as shown:

-6x-7y=42

-6x-7(0) = 42

-6x-0 = 42

-6x = 42

x = -42/6

x = -7

Hence the x intercept of the function occurs at x = -7

Similarly, to get the y intercept, we wil substitute x = 0 as shown:

-6x-7y=42

-6(0)-7y = 42

0-7y = 42

-7y =42

y = -42/7

y = -6

Hence the y intercept of the function occurs at y = -6
