The area of the shaded region is given by the area of the major circle minus the area of the minor circle.

The area of the major circle is 3.14*(26+13)² = 4775.94 in²

The area of the minor circle is 3.14*13² = 530.66 in²

Then, the area of the shaded region is 4775.94 - 530.66 = 4245.28 in²
