To know the y-intercept, we make x = 0 as follows:

\begin{gathered} f(x)=y=(x-3)/(x-4) \\ f(0)=y=(0-3)/(0-4) \\ y=(3)/(4)=0.75 \end{gathered}

y-intercept: (0, 0.75)

To know the x-intercept, we make y = 0 as follows:

\begin{gathered} 0=(x-3)/(x-4) \\ 0\cdot(x-4)=x-3 \\ 0=x-3 \\ x=3 \end{gathered}

x-intercept: (3, 0)

We can also use the graph to determine them:

Answer:

• x-intercept: (3, 0)

,

• y-intercept: (0, 0.75)
