I need help getting the correct answer a simple explanation please (8th grade alegbra) It’a a sequence with term 1, term 2, term 3, term 4, term 5, term 1 has 2 circles, term 2 has 4 circles, term 3 has 6 circles, term 4 has 4 circles and term 5 has 2 circles The question is “what type of function is modeled in the sequence”? Given:

A sequence with term 1, term 2, term 3, term 4, term 5,

term 1 has 2 circles, term 2 has 4 circles, term 3 has 6 circles, term 4 has 4 circles and term 5 has 2 circles

So, we can conclude that we have the following sequence:

2,4,6,4,2

As we can see:

From term (1) to term (3): the sequence increases linearly with a common difference of 2

And from term (3) to term (5): the sequence decreasing linearly with a common difference of 2

The pattern is similar to the "Absolute value function" V shape but is open down.

So, the answer will be:

The type of function is modeled in the sequence: Absolute value
