Solution

We have the following two equations given:

2x + 3y = -3

We can solve for x and we got:

x=(-3-3y)/(2)

We can replace into the second equation and we got:

3((-3-3y)/(2))+5y=-9

And solving for y we got:

-(9)/(2)-(9)/(2)y+5y=-9

then the value of y would be:

y=2\cdot(-(9)/(2))=-9

And solving for x we got:

x=(-3-3(-9))/(2)=12
