Solution:

Given:

Mean of sample 1:

\begin{gathered} mean=(8+5+4+8)/(4) \\ =(25)/(4) \\ =6.25 \end{gathered}

Mean of sample 2:

\begin{gathered} mean=(8+6+3+9)/(4) \\ =(26)/(4) \\ =6.5 \end{gathered}

Mean of sample 3:

\begin{gathered} mean=(6+8+6+7)/(4) \\ =(27)/(4) \\ =6.75 \end{gathered}

From the sample means, the range is;

\begin{gathered} Range=highest-lowest \\ Range=6.75-6.25 \\ Range=0.5 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the range of sample means is 0.5
