Solution

We have the following function given:

f(x)=(x+2)^2-5

And we want to find the inverse so then we can apply this procedure:

1) Replace x by y:

x=(y+2)^2-5

2) Solve for y and we got:

x+5=(y+2)^2

Taking the square root and we got:

y+2=\sqrt[]{x+5}

And we got:

y=\pm\sqrt[]{x+5}-2
