Two triangles are similar if their only difference is its size.

With this in mind we have to find wich sides are corresponding to each other.

First triangle:

From the arrow we notice that the corresponding sides are:

\begin{gathered} 7\rightarrow y \\ 5\rightarrow x \\ 3\rightarrow2 \end{gathered}

From the last corresponding side we know that the ratio is

(2)/(3)

This means that the smaller triangle has dimensions of 2/5 the size of the big triangle.

With this in mind we have:

\begin{gathered} x=(5)((2)/(3))=(10)/(3)=3.3 \\ y=(7)((2)/(3))=(14)/(3)=4.6 \end{gathered}

Second triangle:

The corresponding sides in this case are

\begin{gathered} 24\rightarrow x \\ 18\rightarrow y \\ 30\rightarrow20 \end{gathered}

In this case the ratio is

(20)/(30)=(2)/(3)

Therefore

\begin{gathered} x=24\cdot(2)/(3)=16 \\ y=18\cdot(2)/(3)=12 \end{gathered}
