Maya and Mariah are twins that are saving up for college. Both girls have jobs outside of school and are trying to put together a savings plan. Maya starts her account with $80 and saved $10 per week. Mariah starts her account with $100 and saved $5 per week. a) Write two equations, one that could be used to calculate the total amount saved by Maya and one that represents the total amount saved by Mariah.

\begin{gathered} \text{Maya starts with 80, to that money we have to add the money she saves per week. } \\ \text{ since each week she saves \$10, in x weeks she saves 10x, and the equation is then } \\ y=80+10x \\ \\ \text{For Mariah we use a similar procedure! In x weeks she saves 5x, and Mariah's equation is} \\ y=100+5x \end{gathered}
