Let's assume that Allie's pay before the increase is the 100% of the pay. Then, using a rule of three, we get the following:


\begin{gathered} 12.50\rightarrow100\% \\ 13.25\rightarrow x\% \\ \Rightarrow x=(13.25\cdot100)/(12.50)=(1325)/(12.50)=106 \\ x=106\% \end{gathered}

therefore, the percent increase in Allie's pay is 106 - 100 = 6%
