work 200 hours total

Make 1300

Babysitting (B) is 6 per hour (B is the number of hours of babysitting)

Lawn mowing (L) is 8 per hour (L is the number of hours of lawn mowing)

The total hours between both activities is 200:

Equation 1: B + L = 200

Earnings have to be 1300:

Equation 2: 6B + 8L = 1300

Solving for B equation 1:

B = 200 - L

Using this value on equation 2:

6B + 8L = 1300

6(200 - L) + 8L = 1300

1200 - 6L + 8L = 1300

2L = 1300 - 1200 = 100

L = 100/2 = 50

L = 50

Using this value in the expression we found for B:

B = 200 - L = 200 - 50 = 150

B = 150

Answer:

Need 150 hours of babysitting and 50 hours of lawn mowing
