If the ordered pair (a, b) belongs to the function f(x) = y

Then the function notation is to replace x by a and y by b

f(a)=b

Since the ordered pair (2, -2) belongs to f(x) = y

Then replace x by 2 and y by -2

Then it should be

f(2)=-2

The answer is f(2) = -2
