y=3^x

comparing with:

y=ab^x

Then a = 1 and b=3

To find the y-intercept, substitute x=0

y=3^0=1

The y-intercept is 1

y=-3^x

Comparing with

y=ab^x

The value of a =-1 and the value of b is 3

To find the y-intercept, substitute x=0 into the equation

y=-1

The y-intercept is -1
