Which group of elements reacts violently with water to produce a hydroxide and hydrogen gas in an aqueous solution?

1) Alkali Metals. The elements in this group react in a vigorous way when they're placed into water. As we go down the group the reaction is more violent.

Some elements in this group (Group IA) are Lithium, Sodium, and Potassium.
