We have a function which is expressed by the following:

f(x)\text{ = }(1)/(x+6)

We need to evaluate it when "f(x) = 5", so we have to find the value of x that makes the above expression equals to 5.

\begin{gathered} 5\text{ =}(1)/(x+6) \\ 5\cdot(x+6)=1 \\ 5\cdot x+30=1 \\ 5\cdot x=1-30 \\ 5\cdot x=-29 \\ x=(-29)/(5) \\ x\text{ = }-5.8 \end{gathered}

The value that makes f(x) = 5 is x = -5.8
