We are given the following problem

(3)/(8)/(5)/(8)

Recall the reciprocal rule of division method.

"Multiply the dividend by the reciprocal of the divisor"

(3)/(8)/(5)/(8)=(3)/(8)*(8)/(5)=(3)/(5)

In other words, invert the divisor and multiply with the dividend.

Therefore, the result is 3/5

We are given the following problem

3x+5x

As you can see, the base of the two numbers is the same (x) so we can simply add the coefficients together.

3x+5x=(3+5)x=8x

Therefore, the result is 8x
