-3(x + 15) + 4 – 5x = 2 + 10x - 7

First, apply the distributive property to solve the parentheses:

-3(x)-3(15)+4-5x=2+10x-7

-3x -45 +4 -5x = 2 +10x -7

Move the "x" terms to the left side of the equation:

-3x -5x -10x = 2-7 +45 -4

-18x = 36

Divide both sides by -18:

-18x/-18 = 36/-18

x = - 2 (option b)
