The total number of students, T=28.

The number of girls is 4 more than the number of boys.

Let y be the number of girls and x be the number of boys.

Therefore,


y=4+x

Hence,


x-y=-4

The expression for the total number of students can be written as,


T=x+y

Put T=28 in the above equation.


28=x+y

Therefore, the system of equations to find the number of girls and the number of boys is,
