Notice that the ratio was amplified by a factor. This factor is unknown, and we'll call it x. This way,


6\colon8\rightarrow6x\colon8x\rightarrow r\colon48

Now, from here we can extract two things:

1.


6x=r

2.


8x=48

From the second fact we can get our amplification factor!


8x=48\rightarrow x=(48)/(8)\Rightarrow x=6

And then, we can find r :


6x=r\rightarrow6(6)=r\rightarrow36=r

Thereby, we can conclude that r is 36
