Step 1

Use PEMDAS ( parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction) rule to simplify the problem.

To do this we expand all parenthesis starting from inside.

\begin{gathered} 4\mleft\lbrace28-\lbrack10+3(3+1\mright)*2\rbrack\} \\ =\text{ }4\lbrace28-\lbrack10+3(4)*2\rbrack\} \end{gathered}

Step 2

Multipy 3 by 4

\begin{gathered} =4\mleft\lbrace28-\lbrack10\text{ +(12 }*2)\rbrack\mright\rbrace \\ =4\mleft\lbrace28-\lbrack10+24\rbrack\mright\rbrace \end{gathered}

Step 3

Add 10 + 24

=\text{ 4}\mleft\lbrace28-\text{ 34}\mright\rbrace

Step 4

Find the value of 28-34

=4\mleft\lbrace-6\mright\rbrace

Step 5

Get the final answer

4*-6\text{ = -24}

Answer = -24
