For our first interval,(0,5), we find our rate of change as

\frac{f(x)_2-f(x)_1_{}}{x_2-x_1}

For (0,5)

(28-3)/(5-0)=\text{ 5}

For (-3,3)

(12-12)/(3-(-3))=0

For (-5,3)

(12-28)/(3-(-5))=(-16)/(8)=-2

For (-3,5)

(28-12)/(5-(-3))=(16)/(8)=2
