Since there are 300 foot long border around the edge, that means perimeter is 300 ft.

Perimeter is also the sum of all sides of the rectangle above:

b + b + w + w = 300

80 + 80 + 2w = 300

160 + 2w = 300

2w = 300 - 160

2w = 140

w = 140/2

w = 70 ft

So our final answer will be:


w=70ft
