Open the bracket.

  • 5x + 3 + 8 > 43

Simplify the LHS.

  • 5x + 11 > 43

Subtract 11 both sides.

  • 5x + 11 - 11 > 43 - 11
  • => 5x > 32

Divide 5 both sides.

  • => x > 32/5

The simplified inequality is x > 32/5.
