(-8 - 3k) / 2 = 11

Multiply both sides of the equation by 2

[ (-8-3k)/2] *2 = 11 *2

-8 - 3k = 22

Add 8 to both sides

-8 + 8 - 3k = 22 + 8

-3k = 30

Divide both sides by -3

-3k/-3 = 30/-3

k = -10
