Applying the Pythagorean Theorem give us the missing side as shown as follows:


\text{hypotenuse}^2=\text{opposite}^2+\text{adjacent}^2

Replacing terms:


25^2=15^2+x^2

Solving the powers:


625=225+x^2

Subtracting 225 to both sides:


625-225=x^2

Subtracting numbers:


400=x^2

Applying the square root to both sudes:


\sqrt[]{400}=x

Switching sides:


x=\sqrt[]{400}

Simplifying:


x=20

The answer is x=20
