Answer:

A) He used 2/3 yard of wire

B) He had 4/15 yard of wire left

Explanation:

An electrician had 14/15 yard of wire

He used 5/7 of the wire

A) How many many parts of wire did the Electrician use?

This is calculated as:

5/7 of 14/15 yard of wire

= 5/7 × 14/15 yard

= 2/3 yard of wire

He used 2/3 yard of wire

B) How many yards of wire does the Electrician have left?

This is calculated as

14/15 yard - 2/3 yard

Lowest common denominator is 15

Hence:

14 - 10/15

= 4/15 yard of wire left
