Given the function

g(x)=5x-3

we would like to know the value of g(2). To do this we substitute the value x=2 in the rule for the function, that is

\begin{gathered} g(2)=5(2)-3 \\ =10-3 \\ =7 \end{gathered}

Therefore, g(2)=7.

Writting the aswer like an ordered pair we have (2,7).
