1)

We subtract when moving left or downwards

We add when moving right or upwards

A translation of 8 units down means movement of 8 units down the vertical or y axis(Subtraction would be done)

A translation of 7 units right means movement of 7 units towards the right on the horizontal or x axis(addition would be done)

For A'(- 5, 3), the coordinates obtained with the above transformation is (- 5 + 7, 3 - 8) = (2, - 5)

For B'(- 3, 3), the coordinates obtained with the above transformation is (- 3 + 7, 3 - 8) = (4, - 5)

For C'(- 2, 5), the coordinates obtained with the above transformation is (- 2 + 7, 5 - 8) = (5, - 3)

For D'(- 5, 4), the coordinates obtained with the above transformation is (- 5 + 7, 4 - 8) = (2, - 4)
