Initial weight of dry ice = 3/4 pounds

After the experiment you used 1/3 of what you bought . The amount of dried ice used can be calculated below

\begin{gathered} \text{dried ice used=}(1)/(3)of\text{ }(3)/(4) \\ \text{dried ice used}=(1)/(3)*(3)/(4)=(3)/(12)=(1)/(4)\text{ pounds} \end{gathered}

Amount of dried Ice used = 1/4 pounds
