Explanation:


\begin{gathered} y=2x-1.................(1) \\ 2x+y=3.................(2) \end{gathered}

put the value of y from equation (1) into equation (2) .


\begin{gathered} 2x+2x-1=3 \\ 4x=4 \\ x=(4)/(4)=1 \\ y=2x-1 \\ =2*1-1 \\ =2-1 \\ =1 \end{gathered}

Final answer: the required solution is x=1 and y=1.
