What the HW is looking for is to compare the amino acids of humans to other animals.
Look at the first column - column 42. See the amino acid, Q, that is at the top - this is the amino acid humans contain. Look down the column and see if there are any letters other than q in that column. If there are, highlight them. If there aren’t (which in this column there is no difference) move on to the next column.
Move on to column 43. The top amino acid (the one that humans have) is A. Look down the column to see if there is any letter difference. All the amino acids in other animals are A.
Move on to column 44. The amino acid humans have is P. Look down the column and see if there are any different letters. In this case there is. The second row has the letter E instead of P. This is a different amino acid to the one humans have, so highlight it. Continue to look down the column and highlight any different letters.
Once you have finished highlighting the different amino acid in the other 22 columns, count how many highlights you have per animal. For example, for chicken you should have 7(if I counted correctly)
