GMOs or genetically modified organisms are produced to introduce a new trait into the species. Concerns were raised about the negative impacts of GMOs. Rise of insects, pests, and weeds that are resistant to pesticides were noted. Because GMOs does not require more pesticides, there was an increase in problems of insects, pests, and weeds. GMOs may also contribute to increase in allergic reactions. The new DNA incorporated in organisms can trigger allergies. It can increase antibiotic resistance, too. During the alteration of its genes, an additional gene that is making it resistant to antibiotics was added. Gene of these organisms can enter the body of the consumer when consumed. Because of its characteristics of resistance to antibiotic, the consumer will also develop antibiotic resistance. It was also linked to cancer.
