In this problem, the most important thing is define in a concrete form our variables

K=NUMBER OF HOURS THAT KOLLIN WORKS

G=NUMBER OF HOURS THAT GEORGE WORKS

The problem tell us that, kollin want to save 1,000 dollars, so we need to construct a formula that modelate the situation of kollin, that is

28.50K=1,000

this formula relacionate the number of working hours of kollin with the money that he get paid, and the money that he wants to sava, now we just need to clear the variable K( that is the number of hour that kollin works)

K=(1,000)/(28.50)\approx35.09\text{ hours}

So collin need to work approximately 35.09 hours to achieve his goal of 1,000 dollars.
