A person is looking from a car to the top of a building. The angle of elevation to the top of the building from the car is 32°. The building is 200 feet away. How tall is the building? Round to the nearest foot.

A problem is that you didn’t say the height you are viewing the building from. This means we’re not dealing with a triangle, but a trapezoid. However, If we could assume this was a right triangle problem you would need to use the tangent of 32° and solve for the opposite side. Tan(x) = opp/adj. Multiplying both sides by the adjacent side we get Tan(32) x 200ft = opp. Opposite side = 134 ft
