If those triangles are similar, then, the ratio between their corresponding sides is equal. From this statement, we get the following equation:

(x)/(18)=(16)/(12)

Solving this equation for x, we have:

\begin{gathered} (x)/(18)=(16)/(12) \\ x=18*(16)/(12) \\ x=24 \end{gathered}

The value of x is 24.
