Please explain questions 8 and 9. I really want to know how to slove it.

Traiangle ABC and trangle DEC are simmilar. Thus,

CD/CA = CE/CB

8. If CD = 4, CA = 8, CB = 10, then the above relationship would be expressed as

4/8 = CE/10

By cross multiplying, it becomes

8 * CE = 4 * 10

8CE = 40

CE = 40/8

CE = 5
