The correct answer to this open question is the following.
1.-Imagine you are an American patriot. In the tradition of Thomas Paine's Common Sense, argue why it has become necessary to part from the mother country of England.
My argument would be this one.
American colonists work very hard to make a living. We take care of our families and everything we have is the direct result of our effort, day and night. We cannot stand the aggravations and injustices of the English monarchy. We are angry about the heavy taxation of the British government. Irrational taxes such as the Navigation Acts, the Stamp Act, the Townshend Acts, or the Tea Act, are inconceivable.
And the worst part of all of these is that we have no voice or representation in the British Parliament.
2.- Imagine you are a landowner in colonial America who is loyal to England. Offer reasons why you believe the patriot cause is treasonous.
My argument.
We owe everything we have to the King of England. That is why we must pledge allegiance to the British Crown. It is unfortunate that there are colonists called Patriots that do not express gratitude for the protection we receive from the English King. That is treason to the British crown and must be severely punished.
3.- In your opinion, was the American patriot cause truly "revolutionary"? Yes, it was.
Colonists deserved to have their own form of government and break the chains of dependency from the English crown. They worked hard, worked the land, developed their own societies, and had the right to call North America their own land. And that is why they started the Revolutionary War of Independence against Great Britain.
