point p(0,0) is perpendicular to y = -4x +5

The equation of a line is y = mx + c

m = slope

from y = -4x + 5

slope = -4

since it is perpendicular to point p

m1 x m2 = -1

m1 = -4

-4 x m2= -1

m2 = -1/-4

m2 = 1/4

since (y - y1) = m(x - x1)

x1 = 0 and y1 = 0 from point p

(y - 0) = 1/4(x - 0)

open the parentheses

y - 0 = 1/4 * x - 1/4 * 0

y = 1/4x - 0

y = 1/4x
