it is given that, the population in 2000 is P1 = 38500

the population is 2010 is P2 = 41200

the percentage change in the population is,

(P2-P1)/(P1)*100
(41200-38500)/(38500)*100
\begin{gathered} =(2700)/(385) \\ =7\text{ \%} \end{gathered}

as the change is positive also the population is increased in 2010

thus, the answer is 7% increase that is option 'a'
