The given equation is


\begin{gathered} 3x-2y=12 \\ \text{Rewrite the equation by adding 2y to both sides} \\ 3x-2y+2y=12+2y \\ 3x=12+2y \\ \text{Subtract 12from both sides} \\ 3x-12=12-12+2y \\ 3x-12=2y \\ \text{Divide both sides by 2 } \\ (3)/(2)x-6=y \\ y=(3)/(2)x-6 \\ \text{where }(3)/(2)\text{ is the slope and -6 is the y intercept comparing it with y=mx+c} \end{gathered}

Put y=0 to the equation to get the x intercept.
